Siri Larson Iverson (she/her)

LM, CPM, MSM
Midwife & Owner

I grew up in small town Alaska, where I learned early to respect the natural world, appreciate my community, and honor each individual’s unique strength and resilience.  I think I carry these values into my role as midwife, believing that birth is innate, beautiful, and transformative. It is the beginning ritual connecting all living things.  Not only a physical event, but also a social transformation, I believe that birth pushes each laborer to both trust their own instinctive power and lean on those supporting them. What a blessing to be invited to walk with people in this as guardian and guide!

I started down my path towards midwifery as an undergraduate student at Pacific Lutheran University.  I was studying anthropology and music when I got to my senior year only to realize I was only two classes and a capstone away from a major in Women’s & Gender Studies. Talk about not realizing where my passion lay!  I spent most of my 20s expanding on my interest in sources of empowerment for women and marginalized people through travel and working in various women’s centers, shelters, and outreach education. I was teaching yoga and wondering what was next when my husband was the one to suggest, “What about midwifery?” It was an echo of my earlier educational realization, but this time, the identity of “midwife” took root, saturating me in one of those life moments of complete clarity, confidence, and self-recognition.  I felt like I found myself, or rather, that slowly but surely, midwifery found me! Going back to school was one of the easiest decisions I’d ever made and in 2018 I graduated with a Master of Science in Midwifery from Bastyr University and became a Licensed Midwife in Washington State. I am currently enjoying giving back to my midwifery community by serving as co-chair of the Legislation & Health Policy committee for the Midwives Association of Washington State (MAWS) and Washington's Midwifery Learning Collaborative for the Institute of Medicaid Innovation.

I have a great love for performing, being in the mountains, exceptional food, and my Norwegian heritage. When not practicing midwifery, you can find me in various homesteading pursuits with my creative, insightful partner, Hal, and our two kiddos- born
in the tub at home in 2019 (Ove) and 2021 (Kjell).

"When my partner and I met Siri for the first time we both said the same thing to each other on the car ride home: 'I want this woman to deliver our child.' Siri has an incredible presence- she is graceful, informed, and extremely sweet. We could tell right off the bat that her job is her passion."
