Administrative Staff

Picture
Doris Taylor, Office Manager

Doris (she/her) started with Snohomish Midwives in July 2022 as the admin, and ran the front desk until 2025, when she became the office manager. She is an incredible asset to our admin team and keeps the office organized and running smoothly!
Doris worked in healthcare for over 20 years and is relishing working in a slower paced, patient-centered office. In her spare time, she loves hiking and being outdoors with family and friends. Originally from Alaska, she grew up being outside in all four seasons and loves all the PNW has to offer. In January 2022, she started her own business as a burnout wellness coach. She crafts herbal body oils and teas, some of which are available in the office.

Doris is in the office periodically, and does most of her work from behind the scenes. You can follow along her wellness business adventure at @moonshinewellnesspnw

Emma Snoland, Front Desk Manager
On maternity leave until September 2026
Emma is a Washington native who has spent her life rooted in the Pacific Northwest. For six wonderful years, she supported families as a birth doula and prenatal yoga instructor. Now, she’s found a new balance between her professional life and her passion for all things birth by welcoming clients from the front desk. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her in the garden tending to her flowers and veggies, or curled up on the couch with a good book.

Hana Grant, she/her, Office Assistant
Hana (she/her) recently moved here from Georgia, to further her education; working towards becoming a midwife and to enjoy all of the wonderful nature and rainy days that Washington has to offer. With years of customer service experience, Hana makes sure that every encounter with clients is a warm and welcoming one. If she’s not studying or at work, you will find her thrifting or cooking up some new recipes.

Student Midwives

Liz Souder, she/her
Midwifery Student, Bastyr University
Liz moved from Missouri to Washington in September 2024 to become a midwife—a decision six years in the making. She is from a close-knit community and passionate about giving back to them. Liz offers years of experience working in teams and client-facing jobs. In her spare time, she is a Turn Up dance fitness instructor and loves to foster instinctual, joyful movement.

Sarah Weltz, she/her
Nurse Midwifery Student, University of WashingtonSarah is a Nurse-Midwifery student at the University of Washington and I am so excited to be learning from the Snohomish Midwives this quarter! I am honored to enter a profession where I can support families and birthing people through their pregnancy journey, birth, and the transition to parenthood, along with supporting all other sexual and reproductive health needs. Before I pivoted to nursing, I did breast cancer research at the National Institutes of Health. At the same time, I fell in love with midwifery work and the various ways midwives advocate for patients' reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. While in school, I am also working as an OB nurse at NeighborCare Health, a community health center where I provide perinatal services and support.

Outside of my professional life and when I can find some free time, I love open-water swimming in the many different bodies of water around Seattle, playing Wingspan, crocheting, and frolicking with friends!
