Doris (she/her) started with Snohomish Midwives in July 2022 as the admin. She is an incredible asset to our admin team and keeps the office organized and running smoothly! Doris enjoys getting to know the families as they come in for their visits and loves hearing the birth stories. She worked in healthcare for over 20 years and is relishing working in a slower paced, patient-centered office. In her spare time, she loves hiking and being outdoors with family and friends. Originally from Alaska, she grew up being outside in all four seasons and loves all the PNW has to offer. In January 2022, she started her own business as a burnout wellness coach. She crafts herbal body oils and teas, some of which are available in the office.
Please say hello next time you are in for a visit! You can also follow along her new wellness business adventure at @moonshinewellnesspnw
Student Midwives
Anna Humphreys (she/her) Senior Midwifery Student I was born into the loving hands of a midwife, and my parents still speak of that birth with a sense of wonder. While I grew up, my mom was a birth photographer, paving the way for my own fascination. I always wanted to know the stories, see the pictures, and meet the babies. I attended my birth at age 12 for one of my mom's clients. I will admit to fainting when the placenta came out, but that didn't stop me! I became a doula in 2012 in Southern Oregon and served over 100 families in my time there. I adored being part of these beautiful journeys. I taught childbirth education and infant massage, and volunteered with high-risk pregnancies that showed me many challenges people face. My perspective of birth became intertwined with the need for system change. I received my MPH from UW in 2020 and shortly returned to school to become a midwife, combining my public health knowledge with hands-on community care. I spent my first year of clinical practicum with Snohomish Midwives and I loved it. My next 8 months were with Lake Washington Midwives, a busy practice based out of Puget Sound Birth Center. I really enjoyed my time there honing my skills, but was very happy when I was asked back to Snohomish to round out my education! Originally from Colorado, I've had the pleasure of living in Seattle since 2016. I share a home with my husband, mother, brother, two beloved dogs, and three trouble-making chickens. I love gardening, knitting, audiobooks, fermenting vegetables, getting outside, and doing hot yoga. When not on call, I try to get out for a long bike ride, hike, or backpacking trip. Becoming a midwife feels big and right, and I'm so appreciative of you all for helping me learn and grow in my senior year. You can follow my birth journey in IG @annadoesbirth!
