Sarah Weltz, she/her
Nurse Midwifery Student, University of WashingtonSarah is a Nurse-Midwifery student at the University of Washington and I am so excited to be learning from the Snohomish Midwives this quarter! I am honored to enter a profession where I can support families and birthing people through their pregnancy journey, birth, and the transition to parenthood, along with supporting all other sexual and reproductive health needs. Before I pivoted to nursing, I did breast cancer research at the National Institutes of Health. At the same time, I fell in love with midwifery work and the various ways midwives advocate for patients' reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. While in school, I am also working as an OB nurse at NeighborCare Health, a community health center where I provide perinatal services and support. Outside of my professional life and when I can find some free time, I love open-water swimming in the many different bodies of water around Seattle, playing Wingspan, crocheting, and frolicking with friends! |
