Hannah Persyn, CNM
Clinic Midwife
As a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Hannah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into her clinical care. Though she is not attending births at this time, she will be (we hope!) a long-term member of our team moving forward. Hannah has been a member of our community for years, and working with her is a dream come true for us,
Her path to midwifery came through nursing. Her ideals heavily shaped by years spent in hospice care, street medicine, and community health. These experiences taught her the true meaning of holding space for others no matter their walk of life.
She is a mother of three babies who were all born at home (two of which with the Snohomish Midwives)! She buries her placentas under fruit trees.
When she isn't supporting families in clinic, you can find her covered in dirt from the garden, trying to jump into the closest body of water, or lifting weights at the Y.

Liz Souder
Midwifery Student, Bastyr University
Liz moved from Missouri to Washington in September 2024 to become a midwife—a decision six years in the making. She is from a close-knit community and passionate about giving back to them. Liz offers years of experience working in teams and client-facing jobs. In her spare time, she is a Turn Up dance fitness instructor and loves to foster instinctual, joyful movement.

Jaylin Yowel
Midwifery Student, Bastyr University Jaylin is a second-year midwifery student at Bastyr University. She was born into the hands of a midwife, grew up attending the home births of family members, and listening to stories of birth inspiring her passion for the midwifery model of care. While completing her degree in Women and Gender Studies at Oregon State University, she came to see the role midwives play in supporting the strength and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. She believes that uplifting and caring for birthing people, children, and families is central to building the health and healing of communities. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening, cooking with her partner, being with friends, and cuddling her cats. |
