Deana, Birth Assistant
Deana gave birth to her first child in 2002 under midwifery care in an out-of-hospital setting. This ignited her passion for the midwifery model of care and out-of-hospital birth.
Deana attended her first birth as a doula in September of 2002 and became a certified doula through DONA International in 2004. She began teaching childbirth classes in January of 2003 and is an International Childbirth Education Association Certified Childbirth Educator (ICCE). To further her teaching credentials, Deana earned her Master of Education degree from the University of Washington in 2007. She works tirelessly to inform, support and enable expectant parents on their journey to achieving their desired birth outcomes.
Deana's two greatest achievements, however, are her daughter (Cienna), born at a free standing birth center, and her son (Marceleno), born at home.
